Halloween is approaching!

Hello everyone! I haven't posted in awhile...school, school, and more school work. I dread the beginning of school every year, but for paperwork reasons only! I love seeing the students again and getting back into a routine. I will be posting in a couple of days a little project I just completed for Halloween and it turned out so cute!! I love glittery things so keep checking back and you can find out how to create your own 'glittery' Halloween decor for your home! :)

American Girl Felicity Birthday Party

Alivia attended her friend Caroline's American Girl Felicity Birthday Party last night and it was darling! The girls each brought their American Girl to the party and a table was set for the girls AND for their dolls! My friend Leslie had made tea sandwiches, cookies, mini rolls with strawberry freezer jam and pink lemonade to drink. The girls each received an apron and mop cap (handmade by Caroline's mom) to wear (so cute!). They kneaded homemade bread (then baked by Leslie), cut up strawberries for homemade strawberry freezer jam (which was jarred for them to take home). For their goodie bags, each girl received their homemade bread, freezer jam, a paper cone filled with old-fashioned candy, a bag of homemade marbles, and homemade sugar cookies. Alivia sat in the car with her friend Arianna on the way home and all they talked about was how AWESOME Caroline's birthday party was!

Dinner with Old Friends

I enjoyed a wonderful meal last night with some old friends I worked with in Newark. We ate at California Pizza Kitchen in Easton and it was wonderful! Definitely try the Greek pizza with avocado substituted for the mediterranean chicken, FABULOUS! Unfortunately, the dinner was a goodbye dinner. One of the therapists I worked with for a couple of years, Tracy Hitesman, took a new position with Boardman City Schools. I wish her the best of luck in her new job and many new and wonderful adventures!(Tracy is the young lady in the front row on the left).

Summer Class at Glass Axis

Alivia and I went to Glass Axis in Columbus for a class on glass blowing yesterday. We met our friends Leslie and Caroline there and boy was it interesting! They have to heat the glass to 2000 degrees in order to manipulate it into the shape they want. They put small shards of glass (almost like sanding sugar you use on sugar cookies) into the hot glass to make the different colors. The girls really enjoyed it and got to make a bracelet with two glass heart beads to take home. If anyone is ever interested in going to Glass Axis, it's located on Norton Avenue in Columbus (right off of Olentangy River Road) and they offer classes for children and adults all year round!

Alivia's 8th Birthday Chinese Tea Party

Alivia celebrated her 8th birthday on June 19th with a few friends at the house. She has been intrigued by the Asian culture for awhile now so when I mentioned if she'd like to have a Chinese Tea Party for her birthday, she was onboard! The girls were given Chinese chengsoam dresses (along with their invitations) to wear to the party. They enjoyed sweet and sour chicken, wonton soup, and egg rolls for dinner with cupcakes for dessert! The girls also received chopsticks to eat dinner with and enjoyed some green tea. After gifts were opened the girls departed with fortune cookies dipped in pink chocolate and sprinkles to take home in chinese take-out boxes! A great time was had by all!

The Beginning

Hello everyone! I hope you are all enjoying the summer with friends and family :) The last weekend of June we spend in Uniontown, Pennsylvania celebrating the wedding of my niece Rachel to Brandon Katzeff (my new nephew-in-law! YAH!!). The wedding was beautiful and the bride was stunning (I may be a little prejudiced since she's my niece, LOL!) I wish Rachel and Brandon a lifetime of wedded bliss and joy :)
